This would modify a portion of the world and a adjustment of the orbiting moon. The event would be something like the Aurora explosion. When we first arrive on the planet, the moon is only a small disc in the sky at night... after a couple weeks we would note that the moon is getting larger... after a month's planet time it would swing around the planet filling the sky. At that point we would feel strong earthquakes possible two to three days before the moon reaches the closest position and after is swings around the planet and heads back out. We would also hear a roaring noise and see a bright flashing out in the direction of the "Lavazone" as a big volcano at the "far" edge starts erupting... during this time you would have chunks of " limestone, slate, basalt, sandstone , shale, quartz and other minerals falling from the sky. (would need to armor our bases to protect from this "rain".) These would be blown out of the volcano in random numbers and cover random parts of the map. Could turn out the plant were on is orbiting between different planets and at longer or short time we get this effect. Would also effect the fish population, causing them to move around and refill the areas we've depleted. Could also decrease over time forcing us the explore the lava zones in search of minerals... who know what we would find...
