i dont gripe about ns cause i promised to love it for better or worse, through sickness and health, yadda yadda, but anyway im gonna let loose on this one. its not so much the game as the people playin. heres a sample scenario: eclipse, triad, marines control the room. both sides are battling it out throwin everything they have into the fight. the problem is no one bothers to take the long way and sneak up behind the enemy, no one thinks about attacking somewhere else, they just jump headfirst into a certain death. whenever this happens and whatever side im on i run off alone and have most of the map to play around in. i hardly ever get support from my teammates or the comm. i dont like ramboing as a marine but nothing beats hiding from a bored gorg hopping around in circles and then poppin him as he goes to build that hive. eh im done for tonight, errr the morning so just post your thoughts about encouraging strategic thinking.

If some one is holding your hand then it's common that most of your brain capacity goes to that point instead of realising all the other things you can do.
If whole countries could fall for this (WW1 anyone?) then you shouldn't be so hard on regulary people if they do the same.
It's just a question of practise to learn not to do that. If I were in that position then I would just send enough people to keep contact and make the enemy belive that they have control while letting the main troop swing up from behind or take out a more important target.
If you can do this then the only other things you need to learn is to raise and lower your arms, bend the knees and move your hips. Then you know how to do aikido <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
As to be expected, those people are rare so we end up with a lot of not-so-good comms.
So, there is some thinking going on in there. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
