although I have found the spotlight and the battery powered floodlight, i would have thought that the undersea base would have more external lighting, probably using low power technologies that draw power directly from the base itself, perhaps even that detects if you are in proximity (and outside) to save power internal lighting also be proximity based.

I have seen some of the control in the machine update and you have control over internal and external lighting in the cyclops and I think in base also. I would like very much if base control could be linked to your PDA for lighting and a lockdown feature that closes all bulkheads. The option to run floodlights off of base power is overdue. An item like a power cable or cram one of those transmitter crystals into the battery slot would be great.
