Two questions for the devs

Straight to the point, my first question: when will terraforming be removed?
I read multiple times that it causes problems with performance and that it "bloats" save files.
Second question: what will the upcoming update focus on/contain and when will it be available? Obraxis stated in another thread that there will be an update before the exosuit one, which means that the exosuit won't be in the upcoming one, obviously
I know asking for a specific day is impossible in the programming world and I don't expect a specific day as an answer, so will it be available in the next two or three weeks?

Don't get your hopes up for an update every month. They've been pretty good about it, but at the end of the day trello very clearly says that the date for the update is TBA. People couldn't get this through their heads during the last update and the forum was flooded with complaints.
Too late! If there isn't one in 45 minutes my heart will be crushed!
In all seriousness, its hard not to get my hopes up, I love this game and new things are really exciting. The sheer detail and beauty of it all and the thought that they're making it even better is an excitement that's hard to keep quiet.
#2 No ETA on the next update, but we are putting it through a testing phase right now. The Xbox / PC version merge created quite a few complications that we needed to resolve, and we also had some set backs lately with the build process not working properly, so we were unable to get a build of the game that could be properly tested. But that has been sorted now, and things are getting back on track.
The next update is not going to be a big one. Since we are still hard at work on getting the very meaty Exosuit update pulled together we wanted to at least get a small interim update out in the meantime. It will bring some improvements to the PC version that came in from the Xbox merge, such as controller support, along with some bug fixes and other small improvements.
I know that terrain deformation is a pretty big deal, that's why I asked for terraforming in general, not for the terraformer tool if this would be as simple as removing a mere tool, then you guys would definitely have a ton of work off your shoulders
But thanks for the more detailed answer, I think this means removal of terraforming could be an update for itself then.
So, does the update for the PC version depend on the Xbox update from now on? If so, then I'll check the xbox forum more often for update threads
Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for the information!
My only question is, I was considering getting back into the game (I have the PC version), but I don't want to make a new world if it's gonna get updated a few days from now.
Is the update going to be long off, or is it one such that if I made a world now I wouldn't be missing out on anything? Thank you in advance if you give a response. I'm very grateful for all of the hard work you guys do.
The last update was only a month ago looking at what's in the Done, Doing and To Do columns on their trello page, I wouldn't expect the next update to be so soon. For a broad idea of what's likely to be in the next update, see the roadmap.
Of course if they have to delay release, don't nobody be sending anybody death threats or anything...That's not cool!
But yes, please take August release off the roadmap...
Where did you see that we can build coffee and vending machines?
In the game? It might only be in experimental, but we most certainly can.
