A Defabrication Machine

Hi there, I just wanted to suggest the idea of a machine that works like the opposite of the fabricator but that perhaps requires more energy to use. After lots of hours playing there have been times when I really regret crafting something because I could've used the raw materials to make something else I suddenly need. Glass, obsidian ingots, plasteel ingots, etc, all are basic materials made from other basic materials. It would be nice if we could revert these materials back into their original elements. We can do it with bases, why not basic materials?
