I paused the game for I guess 3-4 hours, and when I came back everything seemed normal as I was still in my lifepod, but when I clicked resume I quickly fell to the bottom of the ocean free to run around (not swim). I couldn't see the lifepod anywhere until I noticed the faint blip of it far far away in the distance.
I should mention that my internet connection had been down during that time, not that it probably matters.
Also, I had just started an easy gamemode to check the translation when I had to pause, so I barely got to play.
