Ns Executable Out Of Date?

I have been trying to play NS for about an hour now and it keeps giving me the "Your Natural Selection Executable Is Out Of Date, Check The Internet For Updates?" Message. So first I thought you released a new non-server only patch but had no luck. So then I though HL was once again updated so I checked that out and it says on the HL updater that 1.1.1.0 is the most up to date version. Is anyone else getting this problem?

You have to use your console* to connect to games. I don't know why, but you do.

(At least I do, maybe not others.)

I am having this problem too, I haven't been able to connect for HOURS!!! I've been playing NS for months, and now all of a sudden I can't play anything! I've reinstalled halflife, NS, all the patches, FULL uninstall and install, NOTHING!!!

Help!

a fellow member of my clan had this problem and i suggested a few things for him to try and this one worked for him.

i suggest you try:

- opening up the run command prompt (start menu > run) and typing, "HL path/HL.exe +console +game ns +connect serverip" (without the talking marks of course!).

which of course, launches HL, changes to the NS mod, then connects the your desired server. if that works, then i suggest you then try to connect using what ever server listing program you use, whether it be server query, or gamespy etc.

because in this case with my clan member, once it worked through this way, it worked for him through his usual server listing programs and any other method he used.

i hope this helps any of you resolve this problem.
