Hello, I would suggest to change object placement system. Could be made via few new models of the wall (same as it work with Glass and Reinforced wall right now) just an ability to upgrade wall storage capacity. Make about 3 -4 slots which can be built as storage boxes. Same slots could be used to place fabricator and other wall mounted items. The same system would work perfectly with floor, make a grid/snapping. Each item in the game have some sort of physical size, so it match sort of grid. Just scale up precision, and it will take less headache on placing items.

Cyclop's upgradable walls goes to the same direction. Make areas which could be upgraded (storage/fabricator/medikit/battery charger) And maybe make some sort of aquarium for the Cyclop's which looks more secure and immersive in submarine design. (You already did it with Moth, when you upgrade it, it have own models of storage placed by player but matching the model of submarine.)

    I just want everything small to be locked to a grid so it can be easily aligned when you wanna do grow beds. cause rn its like the nightmare of OCD

    I think i read about this grid and modular placement somewhere else, someone mentioned a grid system that could be enabled or disabled in order to correctly place furniture. To be honest i kinda like the way we can customize the cyclops, i only wish bottom level lockers had more room and were placed in both sides instead of one. Engine room could probably be outfited with lockers to work as a second cargo bay. But these probably simple things that will be refined later on.
