Ideas For the Arctic Biome (if it happens)

http://subnautica.wikia.com/wiki/File:Whale_Contact_Concept_Art.jpg I think if they make the Arctic Biome they absoluteley need to put this Whale in (those fishses by the side look really cool too maybe they can be like those fish who follow arround other bigger fish and eat their leftovers). Also making the water a darker blue like in the picture would be really cool and really making bioluminesence look even better. http://www.marufow-art.de/paintings/Alien Molusk.jpg Maybe make something like this squid that lives really deep in the arctic maybe even in a subglacial lake like Lake Vostok. Volcanic Vents with tubewormlike creatures and giant crab stuff like the Rock Puncher. I´ll probably add more too this as time goes on. I really love this game.

Um, possible suggestion, the top of the water has sheets of ice covering it. Not on every part though, just some. I love the idea though.

Ooh, I think it would be cool if it were kind of a big, empty biome like the dunes, except for little oases of thriving life centered around the volcanic vents, which would be scattered throughout the biome.

what is more nerve racking? swimming under ice and being able to see some continent, or open water under ice? I think the latter

Yeah i think it would be cool if the arctic biome is at least 2 km deep with just open dark blue water.

Well, before the water was almost cold enough to support an ice biome, now you've got to go really far north to predicate it. Surface temperatures went up around 15 degrees, from around 9-10 degrees Celsius on the island to around 24-26 degrees Celsius in shallow water

well maybe they can just extend the map a bit farther north where it's -10 celsius or something like that (I dont know what temperature would be good if we still want to have liquid water under). Maybe add that you need some sort of cold protection / being in a sub.

It's an alien planet, it could have alien ice aswell.

Ohh yes maybe the ice can be a slight tint of purple or somrthing because of different minerals in the water. Or maybe it isn't even ice it's just a large collection of microorgansims floating on the water that just looks a bit like ice and reacts to touch and lights up like in the movie Europa Report.

Icebergs floating around and forcing to navigate around them would be cool. Ooooh... Maybe you could dig up the ice and put it into the fabricator to make small amounts of filtered water. Since, ya know, polar ice is fresh but slightly dirty.

Make said glaciers hazards to the cyclops. I'd like to see a full food chain... a number of smaller fish, arctic corals/anenomes/starfish on the bottom, flatfish, all the way up to the equivalent of puffins/penguins, seals, or orcas. Variable depth, ice spires that hang down from the ice at the surface, holes in the ice that leads to small oasis type areas with unique plants on the surface.

Sinks in Arctic or Antarctic ice is enough to freeze flesh instantly for small animals like crustaceans and fish, it's like having a salted ice cube slid down your back
