Pollution and Consequences.

So, you know how you have your water filter and nuclear reactor and fabricator all working at the same time? Wouldn't it be cool (And somewhat annoying) if you had to deal with the waste from them?
  • Nuclear reactors would still produce nuclear waste in the form of depleted uranium, but you'd have to deal with that. You can just leave it in your base but it'd take up space (remember, it does have a lead casing so it won't spew radiation into your habitat). But, if you decide to dump it into the environment, the casing should slowly degrade over time, causing radiation to leak into the environment, damaging it.
  • Bioreactors and water filters and dead fish would produce biowaste, which would slowly decompose over time, but damage the environment.
  • Dumping unneeded materials and using bleach to process seawater for clean drinking water and using the fabricator would produce chemical waste. If this waste isn't properly disposed of or contained or the containment has a leak, chemical waste would spew into the environment, obviously causing severe damage.
Now, you may not really care about some fish and coral dying around you. I mean, bone sharks and reapers are already a nuisance, and you're growing your own food, so, what's the harm? Well, all that pollution would attract bottom feeding fish and parasites to the site of pollution. They'd clean it up, restoring the natural balance and fixing the environment (albeit over a LOT of time. Weeks, if not months), but they'd attack the player on sight. They'd try to damage or break into your habitat. They'd destroy anything outside. And they'd destroy and eat your precious Seamoth.

What do you guys think about this?

Affecting the ecosystem and then face the consequences sounds great but i suppose that it will require lots of work so it should be added in a later stage
