Prawn Suit Improvements

  1. The delay between starting to pick up an object and actually reaching the object is pretty annoying. Often times you end up picking up nothing if the object is moving. It should automatically pick up something if your cursor is pointing to that item at the time you initiate the pickup action.
  2. The grappling hook feels very clumsy. I think it's because the hook travels really slowly. Furthermore, it doesn't always detach like it should, and there's no indication when that happens until you're suddenly pulled back to it. IMO it should travel at the same speed as Batman's grappling hook in the Arkham games.
  3. There should be a key to automatically pick up whatever you are holding with your propulsion cannon arm. I know that E drops the item, but that's a problem if you're holding a fish because they just swim away.
  4. IMO it would be great if there was a "turbocharge" module that allows you short bursts of speed while walking on the ocean floor. Similar to thrusters, but for horizontal movement rather than vertical. You should be able to equip one or the other at any given time, not both.

Thank you for reading!

I didn't know you couldn't pick up items with the suit propulsion cannon. That's bogus; it should work the same as the hand-held one.

I second the issue with the delay picking up items with the claw arm. At first it felt kind of cool like there was an art to piloting the suit, but after gathering quartz for HOURS trying to glass in ONE LOUSY ROOM (still mad about those window costs), it's just very annoying.

It would also be nice if the mined items didn't shoot halfway across the map when mined, and if the drill bit wouldn't clip through the nodes (and ground), though this is mainly because it doesn't seem to mine when it does that. If it did I probably wouldn't care so much.

I'm actually kind of impressed at how fast I move across terrain in the suit; I expected it to be much worse. While it is painfully slow compared to the Seamoth, the latter is just so zippy it makes sense.

I have many concerns with the current suit, first, it's not cool to have to choose between multiple arms like this, all seem cool and useful, but you mostly want a way to get items with the suit, you always need to keep one basic arm, so you cannot really load 2 custom arms.

There should be a multi tool arm, basically you could switch between grappling hook, mining drill and the basic hand. And you could switch with 1-5 keys like usually.

Second, the inertia of the suit is horrendous, and while I understand such a design, it makes it impracticable to use basically everywhere since the floor of the sea is full of obstacles, forcing you to jump nearly all the time. You take too long to move from A point to B point, especially when you're used to "flying" all the time.

The mining drill is also annoying, I don't like the way the items are thrown away once mined, picking them up is hard when they are moving and sometimes they fell 50m under because there is a hole right next to the mining spot.

Can't we just make them float ? It's not realistic but at least it wouldnt be so annoying.

No need to limit so, methinks. Ultimately each module you use means you can't use another and if someone wants more travel speed at the cost of whatever else they could be having, that'd be their choice.

I have no issues with the grappling hook's speed, but I would like an icon change to indicate if I will actually reach what I am aiming at. I'm thinking something of an inwards-pointing triangle showing up just outside the cursor ring if the grappling hook can grapple. It's clear and does not conflict with the propulsion cannon cursor changes.
