Can't remap gamepad controls

I have a Logitech Gamepad F310 that I have been trying to use with Subnautica but the default gamepad controls mapping from the game is absolutely bizarre and confusing. The problem is that I cannot get the controls to remap for the gamepad to what I want. I set them but it won't keep them nor recognize the changes at all. It goes right back to the default. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Also would the Steam game pad work with Subnautica?

    From the Logitech page:
EASY TO SET UP AND USE
    Adapt and customize
Change the standard commands or adapt F310 for play with an unsupported title, using Logitech profiler software. Buttons and controls are fully programmable and can even mimic keyboard and mouse commands.

Sounds like you need the profiler software to emulate keyboard commands. I use a Logitech G13 Advanced Gameboard which also uses a profiler. In any case, this would be something you would want to ask Logitech for assistance with.

Steam gamepad works fine for the game and has no known issues that I've encountered. Also the Xbox one controllers work great except... the dev's messed something up with the big update and they're a bit wonky right now. Dpad controls are up-down instead of right-left (and vice versa) and inventory swapping controls don't always want to work if you just trying to move stuff from same inventory slot to fill locker (and vice versa).
