Inconsistencies regarding light vs sound

I feel like on several occasions there are weird inconsistencies when it comes to you seeing something happen and then hearing it happen afterwards. The first example has to be the two Aurora explosions (one when you are in your life pod near the beginning of the game, you look up and it explodes, and the major explosion). The first Aurora explosion when you are in your life pod has a good two second gap between you seeing the explosion and then hearing it. When the Aurora explodes, though, the sound is AWESOME, but it happens instantly. When you factor in that you are probably further away than when the first explosion occurred, this doesn't make too much sense.
Then you have the infamous Sunbeam. If no one has seen the actual animation, watch Acituanbus' latest video on it. The Sunbeam is very far away from the crash site, and you, but the sound hits your ears instantly. The Sunbeam looks miles away, and the sound reaches you in the moment. Imagine just watching your only hope explode, and you having a moment of just "nah m8", and then you hear the noise a few seconds after for the awesome moment.

I feel like if there was a delay on all of these things it would add great atmosphere. Imagine seeing the enormous Aurora explosion and watching it happen, and then the sound hits you.

I know this might come across as another realism rant, and it might be, but I see no harm in this. It doesn't really effect the gameplay, it's just a small thing that would improve the awesome factor slightly. I'm not ranting about the anatomy of the spadefish and how it shouldn't even exist, or anything like that, it's just a small little thing. :)

Yeah, totally agree with that. It's basically a bit like when the Aurora explodes in the trailer, although even there the sound is a bit early; I was sort of thinking about the sound following the big wave which knocks the player off the life pod.

Yea, or maybe the sound coming a little earlier. I've always wanted the wave to actually knock you back in game, and if the noise followed that it would make the whole experience way more epic. Also, most people stand on top of the life pod when the Aurora explodes, so they would get knocked off of that if they were watching from there.

Also we need that massive sky ray that flies over at 0:33. It's so cool!
