I thought it would be pretty cool to have different weathers in the game instead of just night and day.
Weather Ideas:
1. SubNado: The SubNado is just like a tornado but underwater.
Affects:The SubNado can pick up quartz, copper, silver and other materials. It can also suck in nearby creatures killing them. Will also do a little damage to the terrain.
2. (no name yet plz give ideas down below): Just like storm but much stronger and much more violent. Can only happen after ten days of surviving.
Affects:This storm can cause huge waves which knocks the player around underwater.Whenever lightning strikes it can electrocute the water and can hurt the player. To avoid being hurt make a ThunderSuit.
3.DeathCurrent: It is a current but very deadly. Can be seen underwater. Can only be found at a depth of 60m.
Affects: Can drag players very deep under water drowning them. Also affective on fish. Could be used as a trap. The only way to get through one of these is by using a prawn suit or cyclops.
4. (no name yet plz give ideas down below): Like a volcano eruption but much more dangerous. Can only happen after 15 days of surviving.
Affects: Flings rocks from underwater into the sky and come crashing back down again causing huge waves which can kill the player easily. You can avoid being hit by one by getting in a seamoth or cyclops. You can tell if its coming because the robot will tell you that something unkown is falling down from the sky rapidly which tells you that one is happening giving you time to get in a seamoth or cyclops. You can also be safe by being at a depth below 40m.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
Please leave your thoughts down below and tell me what you thought.
Thanks!

Well I like 1 and 2 for sure but 3 and 4? Not so much. I'm not sure how I feel about the name SubNado tho.
How about just give the storm a class wheres 1 is meh and 5 is AGGGGGHHHHHHH HELP ME!!
1: They're removing terrain destruction. Also, moving too many physics items at once is rarely a good idea. It sounds violent, and I don't really see how that would make the atmosphere more interesting. Lots of coding effort and potential problems, for what payoff?
2: I'm pretty sure the engine doesn't actually do waves that are more than visual effects. Why would the player know to make themselves a Faraday cage? Same as 1: lots of effort, for what payoff? Battering on the player just to force them to do something (like make a suit) isn't what I would call good gameplay.
3: And the point is? If the point is to move the player, the world is a bit too open to do scripted events like that with any reliability. If the point is to just kill the player, that would again be obnoxious gameplay design. Usable in a Rogue-like or a more punishing game, but not very applicable in a mostly-open exploration game. A scripted current in a tube might be interesting.
4: Some sort of meteor-based resource replenishment would be interesting. A weather system that just breaks things doesn't feel like it would fit SN very well. You seem pretty fixated on adding systems that target the player lethally in an exploration game.
There's other games that spend a lot more time trying to kill the player(s), SN is neat because the critters don't care very much about the player. They react, and choose the player as a target if you're handy, but nothing really goes out of the way to kill you, with the possible exception of the Warper.
