3.55GB mine... Game takes almost 400 secs to load as well (never cleared cache).
SSD, yo. Probably cut that in half at least.
It IS on an SSD. A nice shiny new one. All by itself. It made no difference when I moved it over. It stalls at about 3 secs with no change on screen until about 360 secs when it counts up until start, around 380-390 secs.
It is aligned correctly. And I had the same problem on the previous drive (non-SSD), which is why I got a new one. This isn't a SSD fix-it topic though, but thanks for trying.
Dear @sabin77, I have only one request: Could you, please, put an apostrophe in "games?" To make it "this game's unplayable?" It's not much, but it's just been irking me for a little while now. Thanks!

To explain:
"This games unplayable" = games = plural, so it would have to be "These games are unplayable"
"This game's unplayable" = game is (apostrophe takes place of clipped letters) = "This game is unplayable" Note that apostrophes an also signal possession.
Just a quick word to let know that yes, clearing the cache after the game update this week did solve the problem. Still experiencing violent lags, but less, and maybe 80% less crashes. My wrecks seem empty though, but hell, it's an alpha game and I can restart
