suggestion- how about some gastropods and some bivalves.

look there have been periods in the earths history when critters look all sorts of ways. Ordovician era critters had lots of soft body plans. I love the fish already but this is a really limited menu displayed. grand reef IMO should have vastly more variety . stretch out the peeper and put the eyes on the end of a stalk, make a version of the spade fish sand colored.
however in the year i have played i think adding more types of critters would be good. maybe an art contest for a few new fish types. they dont even need to be catch-able they just need to fill the niches and be present. thanks for the hard work.

Another thing to acknowledge too is that the game can only handle so many creatures- which is why the devs have re-used shallow-water creatures like the boomerang or spadefish in deeper waters. However, I do agree that relatively simple molluscs or other invertebrates would do a great deal to spice up biomes like the grand reef- even if they end up being only asthetic (sort of like the rock grub).
If performance is an issue, those species could be shown in limited cases/numbers, and ramped up on more powerful systems.
I also think the current fish spawns should be made more biome specific, too many creatures are shared between biomes.
For real, y'all, use the proper forum.
