On the wiki:

Most, if not all fauna and flora will be found in the Primary Research Facility, aggressive fauna will also be passive to the player while in the aquarium. Aggressive fauna will also defend the player from Warpers.



So... can I get some reaper bodyguards now, please?

    Well, you can get a Reinforced Diving Suit and plant dozens and dozens of Tiger Plants around your base, which will kill most things trying to get close while the suit will protect you against them.

    Tried that. Those jerks kept missing me but hitting my base. Worst flooding I ever experienced.
