Joining Causes Crashes

<div class="IPBDescription">LAN and Routers</div>Hi all,

I'm happily hosting a NS Server in the Netherlands. Its a lot of fun to see that your server is full of players knowing that you're doing a service to a bunch of people...

but..

I'm running a NS Server on a Win2K server (800 Mhz P3) with a SCSI harddisk. A perfect machine to host a NS game, but it's in a LAN, hooked up to a router and an DSL line.

Of course, I would like to join the game from within the LAN. I type in the console: /connect 192.168.x.x to join the server.

But soon afterwards, about 5-10 minutes later, the server crashes, kicking out everybody.

This seems to be happening consequently. Because I had left the server running for about 3 1/2 hours straight with no problem whatsoever. But when I join it, the server crashes.

Is this a security built in the server in order to leave me out? Is it because I have a ping of around 10-15 when the rest of the players are around 100? I would like to know.

Thanks,

Marauder
