Demo Files (.dem) Refusing To Play?

<div class="IPBDescription">:(</div> I recorded 3 .dem files from this evenings game with Silent But Violent but none will play.
They all give me "cached failed" error message

Could this be cus the clients are on 1.0 and the servers are on 1.03?
ANY fixes or answers would be nice

just did a check and the EXTACT msg is
"mod_extradata: caching failed"

    Its just a waste of time, you dont need to install it they are saying, they dont mean it will mess up half life.

    You shouldnt need to install the patch to play back demos. Theres a bug in half-life where if you record a demo on a map, and then the map changes - all subsequent demos you record on the new map (or any after it) will not work and theres no way of fixing them. So if you want to record demos on every map you'll have to keep quitting + re-opening HL each map change.

    i think that when you play a demo it uses the server dll but i'm not sure... it's worth to try

    Especially on certain Clan/League games where .dem's are required
