Cpu increase? Constant Framerate drop and lag after a few feet?

So, I used to do Let's Plays just fine with my old, crappy AMD FX processor. Not a lot of lag or framerate drops. I Recently installed an i5-4690k and everything else runs soooo much smoother. I did the latest update and was super excited to do another video since so much has been added, but now, I can't even go a couple of feet without lagging and trees in the Mushroom Forest just spontaneously loading in front of me. I have the newest processor, an MSI 950 gpu and 8 gb of ram. It should work just fine on at least minimum graphics, but it doesn't matter what I do 
Anyone know if there is anything we can do with that? Is it even happening to anybody else? This game was part of the reason I even got a new processor. On my old one it would hit 60 % at highest, now on the new one it is at a minimum of 80% cpu.

Besides that question, to play with your current rig, try clearing the cache (see my sig). Also I'd use experimental until the next stable update hits.
