Good luck to them in the awards.
Like Osiris, meters are probably the only good thing I got to say about that one, rest feels like a very generic shooter with some rpg mechanics strapped to it... ughh... or No Man's Sky survival mode... I actually tried NMS purely because of all the hate it got. Started in survival mode, there was about 40% watching paint dry another 40% farming simulator and 9% inventory manager simulator and 1% exploring... just because you get flak over easiness doesn't mean you should throw where you succeeded under the bus and slap together not even half thought through mechanic in... it wasn't even hard just busybody work that put you to sleep... normal mode was actually fun because I didn't watch meters disappear or got forced to mine every 5 seconds, giant space rocks give 5 iron? really? and you need 200 to recharge shield that gets nuked in 3 shots by pirates that spawn every 2 minutes and force you into inescapable combat... always hostile planets... so many resources needed to craft upgrades that go into a thing that you hold in your hand... you could build a damn city with it... a single lift off takes enough plutonium that you could power a nuclear power plant for the next... century. Anyway... too many "survival" games, that offer nothing new and in reality are nothing more then grinding simulators. How about some originality... or at the very least some modicum of believability, everyone just wants to be next minecraft but brings nothing original or polished or belivable to the table.
Some devs here properly stated that the point of a video game is FUN. They really should get awarded for making a game that isn't a farming simulator where making a toothpick request enough resources to build a Boeing.
