Creatures in Alien Containment Growth Problem and Creatures Turning Black

There is a problem with some of the creatures because from time to time they go black no just in the alien containment system though. another problem is that i have 3 creatures in there 1 bone shark 1 stalker and 1 snake crab and they are so small and the tank is 2x its size (by that i mean i put another alien containment under another one to make it bigger) and they are so small and for sure they should be able to grow bigger i had the bone shark in there by itself at one point for a while and it should have been able to grow to or almost full size but it was almost as small as it was when it came out of an egg!

Sure but a 2x alien containment system with one bone shark in it should let it grow around full size i have seen them in the wild and they would seem pretty capable of fitting in a 2x alien containment.
At least for the Kelp, it allows it to grow full size (where it would not if it was only a single AC unit). Not sure about anything else.
