Two instances of these events occurring:
In both cases, the game became laggy despite the settings and eventually crashed in such a way that I was forced to manually shut down my laptop. After this crash, the save file was listed as damaged, but any attempt to delete the file from within the game and then quit caused the game to crash. After starting the game up again, the damaged save file would return. Even creating a new game, saving, returning to the menu, and selecting load game showed the damaged file returned and the game would still crash upon attempting to quit. (In both cases, trying to use the file would cause it to remain on the loading screen with "error loading unmanaged data build 18") In both cases, trying to delete the save file folders resulted in "You'll need to provide administrator permission to delete this folder". Several methods of trying to reclaim ownership of the file failed, and in the first case I ended up resetting my PC (Through Windows 10) in order to clear the files out. In the case of the second event, I attempted to clear the cache out, but it did nothing.

Output Log: http://pastebin.com/z8rG0kMB
Edit: Apparently I'm an idiot, as I can delete the files in safe mode. That being said, though, I still don't have a clue why it would prevent me from doing so normally.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there's some sort of Cthulhu bug lurking in the depths for this one. Fix for next time: find the file locking Subnautica saved files with Process Explorer (from Windows Sysinternals, free software) -- hit 'find' (CTRL+F) in Process Explorer, type Subnautica, note what file has locked everything, hit escape to close, find that process, right-click it, and click "restart" which will cause it to drop the files and start behaving normally again.
Cthulhu says hi:
Edit: Ended up being igfxEM as well, dealing with it allowed for removal of files. Just leaves the issue of the crash and corrupted save.
