Let's talk about December's Precursor performance impact in this thread. When you start a new game performance is going to be great of course. So we are comparing performance of advanced games. Medium+ or large base, plenty of lockers of stored items , Seamoth and/or PRAWN.
One of the worst performance zones is the super deep area where you get those tear-drop blood things and the brain octopus resides. Will be interesting to see if code changes have made things better, worse, or if it remains the same. I'm deleting my entire game and reinstalling from scratch for this playtest so it will be a while before I can give my own feedback as I won't be using any cheats.

Neat little changes abound with this too, there are new locations for crashfish that are easier to access for the powder and fragments are back to being around the map and not just isolated in wrecks which is nice. There looks like there is more salt deposits in the shallows as well. Lots of rebalancing it looks like.
iirc that can happen with updates and old saves in general... Went ahead and reloading my new save 5 times and have not had any crashes. It may be because the save is so new, but my load times are much quicker as well. My average before this update was about 2.5 -3 minutes and now its between 30-40 seconds. A pleasant change to be sure.
Best of luck on midterms!
Not really about performance, but can someone confirm or deny the devs reverted the Seamoth energy consumption? Is that intentional? I've also noticed I can breathe just fine in nonpowered bases, so I'm inclined to think at least something was unintentional.
I'd occasionally freeze if piloting my seamoth at speed and the game needed to catch its breath. Almost never crashed. But now it's freezing and crashing regularly.
It does appear to me that they reverted seamoth energy consumption. I couldn't tell you if it's intentional or not, but I'm inclined to think it is. They also make regaining your O2 in the seamoth much much faster. The seaglide appears to still burn energy at the increased rate.
