Hello everyone. Today I decided to make a Christmas mod for Subnautica.
The only thing I've done so far is change the model on the knives to candy canes. I could make more if I wanted to.
Here is a screenshot of the candy cane knife:

The mod is being run through a basic mod loader so I don't need to edit any assets files at all.
The mod loader isn't update to the precursor update though.
What do you think? What other things could I add?

Give the Stalkers Elf Hats and change the Metal Salvage to Presents
I see why UWE didn't make any Christmas decorations; they're way too busy trying to get the game finished as it is. I hope next year we get some cool seasonal stuff in Subnautica
I can't do the decorations over the trees, I have no idea where the trees are going to be since they are randomly generated in a specific place. Maybe I could loop through all of the gameobjects with a specific gameobject name and then child them but I have no idea what the tree will be. tldr: too hard
EDIT: Subnautica I believe uses paid shaders so I might have to make everything unlit
EDIT2: Or I can just point a regular spot light at it
Subnautica has one and only one open layer for me to use for lighting
