I didn't know where to put this thread since it's both bugs & suggestions so I am posting it here.
I just purchased the game 2 days and started playing for the first time. The game is definitely fun and has great gaming mechanics. However, here are the issues I had with the game and as well some here are some suggestions.
I am going to postpone playing this game until it's done or maybe when there's a good patch fixing and adding things I mentioned.
I just purchased the game 2 days and started playing for the first time. The game is definitely fun and has great gaming mechanics. However, here are the issues I had with the game and as well some here are some suggestions.
- Why oh why can you not delete items? A trashcan for deleting items should be unlocked by default if this was added.
- I got a 2nd life pod spawn in. Not sure when it happened. My first lifepod had everything fixed inside it.
- The game started to stutter as the longer I played. And eventually started getting crashes. I fixed this by deleting everything in CellsCache & OctreesCache. This also fixed the 2nd life pod issue.
- The game needs a way to toggle beacons, either all of them or seperately. I would love to label the world intensely with beacons but it's just too annoying to have them on all the time.
- The cyclops needs ways to recharge without using power cell rechargers. I would prefer if I can build a nuclear power plant at the bottom and instantly charge the cyclops via that.
- Getting stalker tooths on purpose was what really killed the game for me. It's completely random and I'm just sitting there waiting and watching stalkers attacking my seamoth or metal salvage. They're also too hard to see.
- The entry to the aurora was REALLY REALLY REALLY hard to find. I had to look up a youtube video just to see how to enter. The low resolution textures used for the entrance told me at first sight that it was mainly for background view. Whenever I see low resolution textures, I assume I cannot go there.
- Everytime I loaded the game, the still suit would talk to me about pressing the button.
- Whenever I mounted the seamoth into my moonbay, my PDA would break until reloading a save where everything would be gray but usable.
- I had way more gold, diamond, uranium than copper & silver. Silver needs to be more common. Silver was the most valuable metal for me. Also silver is the hardest to get since it's surrounded by enemies in the kelp biome.
- The air pipe connector for bases would be invisible when I was placing it and when I placed it. So I never used them.
- When I saw air pipes in the game, I thought it would be an incredible mechanic on making oxygen outposts to dive deeper. I ended up only using the oxygen pipes for one cave because the pipes took up too much room and barely went that deep. Pipes should be able to stack or at least be WAY LONGER. The pipe design definitely needs more of a rework so it can help the early game before you have a seamoth. Also pipes should give out oxygen between each connecting pipe, or at least add a way to make oxygen dispense out of the middle part of a pipe. I'm saying this because Astroneers made the game centered around tethering yourself to oxygen, which is an amazing game mechanic.
- It was really difficult finding important fragments like battery recharger and power cell recharger as those are incredibly important in helping your exploration.
- Fish were going into my base when built the multipurpose room.
- The cyclops has no depth indicator when using the cameras.
- When I first built the cyclops it got beached and stuck on objects I needed to destroy. The cyclops should not build if there's not enough adequate safe room for it.
- The knives were bugged where it had 0 durability and I could use it infinitely. Sometimes they would come back in my inventory if they broke, which made them infinite I think.
- I was able to build a seabase that had no power and still go inside to get oxygen.
- Finding jelly plants is too hard. Still haven't found them.
- I had to cut 10 doors when there was only 1 door. All the metal that came out was twice as thick as the actual door.
- I would like to stress finally that I think being able to build more outposts would be really cool, but it takes a lot of modules and thus items to make where you could bring with a cyclops, but what's the point when you already have a mobile base?
I am going to postpone playing this game until it's done or maybe when there's a good patch fixing and adding things I mentioned.
