Base Defense Turret (Stasis bubble + perimeter defense effect)

Description:
fauna tracking function from spotlight, automatic stasis firing after stasis effect flee effect from perimeter defense

looks: stasis gun mounted on spotlight rig
costs: costs of stasis gun + spotlight + polyaline + advanced wiring
each shot costs base power, won't shoot when no power

reasons why / lore friendly

it would keep fauna away from the base, without actually harming it
stasis freezing it to reduce any kinetic damage, then make it flee

and because it would use what is already there (the tracking is programmed, the stasis bubble is programmed, the models are there)
it maybe even be easier to implement

Maybe After A While Some Fauna Would Realize That It Would Not Be Safe To Get Close To The Base?

though i'd like some way to control what gets shot...like, i want reapers away, i want gasopods gone, and i want reefbacks to remain unmolested

maybe in the controls, you could select what kind of animals you want to repulse. It might be fun to make it so that you have to scan them in order to be able to selectively target them.

It's a good idea, but I don't think you should be making bases where predators roam around.
    Messes with the ecosystem.

It would however be slightly funny to realize that you just kicked a Reaper Leviathan out of his natural habitat with your base defense.

or, alternately, maybe allow us to build automated seamoths we can upgrade with the perimeter defense system and dock to moonpools (or a new base module that can dock a couple of these unmanned seamoths). i imagine a reaper coming in, and your defense subs launch automatically (perhaps responding to a signal from a scanner room or a new command center style base module). they power over to the offending fauna and zap them till they leave, then redock and recharge until the next incursion.

If you want a station defence system there should be much more agressive fauna / flora damaging the station by eating glas and titanium.
Otherwise there is no reason for this.
But there is a allways the danger turning SN into a shooter...

never meant as a shooter but in previous games I lured by accident a reaper to one of my bases, that f*** stayed there for days trapping me in my base

the idea is that you secure your base, nevermind if there is fauna that can damage it or not (as far as I know leeches and floaters can already damage or drain the bases)

anyways a base defense perimeter would even not needed a realistic goal of someone stranded on an alien planet
(and mine would not be a shooter-solution more an electric fence sort of way)

As I said...there need to be some agressive flora / fauna which destroyey your base...than it makes sense.
