Battery power generators

Does anyone remember the battery power generators in earlier builds.

I Remember the battery generator from a long time ago and I think it would be interesting to put it back into the game. I wouldn't even mind if they used the old power generator design. Have it so it doesn't produce power but uses power cells and won't charge the power cells. This would lead to making deep sea bases even if you don't have the bio and/or nuclear reactor. It could even be a back up power source if you only have solar panels at night or need to throw together a quick temporary base. Charge power cells at sea level with the power cell charger then haul them down to the deep sea secondary base.

I am interested to hear if other people miss the old battery power generator and I feel like adding battery support for bases would help flexibility in design and purpose.

I didn't play that far back, but I've read about them on the wiki and it struck me as such a nobrainer to have a piece of equipment like that in the game. For one, it gives the power cell charger a little more to do post-moonpool/future cyclops dock and for two, I can definitely use that to make building outposts easier. Having direct access to air and the ability to use a fabricator instead of being stuck with, say, quartz everywhere but no power to turn it into glass sounds good.

I thought about three versions of this since my original post.

A single power cell socket that could be mounted on the interior wall of the base that would provide 200 power units from a single cell.

A 6 cell power generator exterior somewhere around the base that provides 1200 units of power.

Micro version that would only provide 100 units(durp not 50) of power from a small battery for a small single hallway base where multipurpose room would be too large for your oxygen needs.

These three types of generators would only use the power from the cells and not charge them when alternative power is being provided in excess.

With the upcoming precursor ion batteries/power cells, any multitude generators would be overkill. Just one for either should do.

I thought batteries were 100 power? Considering you use 2 to make a power cell and that gives you 200 power.

Durp you're right. I love this game but the seaglide makes it feel like batteries only have 50 units lol.
