Crash loading save file all of a sudden Build 42573

Hi,

My save game will not load all of a sudden. It gets stuck on loading world tiles and the counter just goes on forever. I can see the compass at the top of the screen and can hear in game sound as if it has half loaded but will not complete. Last time I saved my game I was in the seamoth in the middle of nowhere so I don't know if that's caused it. I have tried all suggestions I could find.

Run a chkdsk on the drive, see if that clears it up.

Last gasp: Clear the cache on that save (see my sig down there ▼ , but clear the entire thing except for the four main files, don't try to leave out the base batches).

Try holding on... My game takes over 500 seconds to load now. It makes a game sound somewhere between 3 and 6 seconds as soon as it gets to loading world tiles, there is a loooong wait for move on to the next stage, and then about 10 more seconds until it starts. It's not quite the same as yours as I only get the compass after the loooong wait. How long have you waited?

I was just thinking maybe I should clear the cache files, as I still have 'dead' duplicate items in my inventory, still have old-style white fragments that I can't scan. I also have lots of bases and terraforming though, so I want to save a lot of my land, especially as the moonpools I have built recently have such such short legs I can barely get the seamoth under!

Yes I am back in. Deleted all save files except the 4 main files as detailed in the guide. Loads up really quick now and everything seems to be intact so far, fingers crossed.
