This concept exists. My take:

3 Ti ingots
2 advanced wiring kits
4 rubber
4 power cells
4 quartz

The labeled part "Power Cell" is a large generator. NOT a power cell item.

Power drain would transfer power at a rate of 3 per second

It's already on the post-release schedule. I assume they're going to work on the Cyclops at some point, a dock eventually, and generators/reactors or something sooner.

Violating thermodynamics is fine for EA, but should probably get something a little more realistic for release. They've pushed back the release date already, so it happens when it happens.

Nice idea...but this has to be something for a moon base update. What do you think?

I would think the simplest way to do this would be like how ladders work. They don't bother having the player animate climbing up/down, they just work.
    • Player builds Cyclops dock on the top side of a tube on a base.
    • Player moves Cyclops hatch within range of tube. (Some assistance would be killer to position it easily.)
    • Base connector "soft docks" with Cyclops, with a graphical bendy tube that keeps connected as long as Cyclops is in range.
    • Cyclops hatch then teleports player into base.
    • Base hatch teleports player into Cyclops.
    • Base can recharge Cyclops.
    • Cyclops can power up a depleted base, providing 10 power to a fully depleted base, to activate O2 and fabrication.

This way, there's no new animations, just a check for Cyclops positioning. Perhaps Cyclops power link should just happen, anytime the sub is in range of a base? Or in range of a power transmitter?
