Hi there Devs,

Ive been experiencing Crashes to the desktop ever since i started exploring a certain pice of the map. I dont know how to point out the location, but its 400m from the alien weapon island and between the alien weapon island and the crashed ship (in the ocean). Also i am a nerd with his resource monitor open all the time and i have noticed that the crashs occure when my memory usage reaches 2.300.xxx KB.

Crash and game discription:
Whenever i am playing arround the area mentioned above, the game will chew up memory fast and start to jitter. like a madman. Sometimes it will cause a long 'hang' or 'freeze' of the game. Sometimes after a 'freeze' the game will continue or it will CTD. I have noticed that when the game does not CTD the memory gets dumped to 180.000KB. It is from this point that the game will continue to run smoothly again.

I have tried:
All settings of the graphics options menu
All settings on/off/variaties of the F3 menu

if more information / testing is required in order to track down this bugg / glitch i am available for help.

Regards, Don

[EDIT]
- It might be good to know that i have just recently started playing this game. I have not had updates of the game so it cant be due to game updates.
- My problems seem very much like this post: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/147052/crash-random-crashes-while-exploring-42313#latest

Yeah me too, i have been waiting for a solution on this for a while. For me it is absolutely fine until i have played around 4 hours on that save, after that it always shuts down around 4 minutes after loading the saved game.. wish this would be fixed

Hey, I think I got the same problem than you, I posted a few crashes report on my post (6 if I remember correctly) and all the crashes and freezes happen between Aurora and the Moutain Island. Freeze can last to 1 minute for the longer ones and note also that when I reload the chunk where my moonpool is located, it seems like the foundations are bugging, four foundation pillars appear when there is usually only one used to hold up the moonpool.

Yeah sorry about my english, trying to explain with my own words I guess :/

Tell me if you have some of this troubles too.

The clearing of the cache directories did the trick. It was kind of difficult to understand the directions at that walkthrough since there is no mentioning of the directories in question. Just the folder names where clear.

i understood that i had to (in game) walk arround my bases and write down the 'camera batch' codes. These were:
    - 11-18-10
    - 11-18-11
    - 17-18-17

from that point i searched in the steam folder for '*11-18-10*' and found the correct folders.

    it took the deletion of:
    - 1863 'batch-objects' files in directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slot0001
    - 1335 'baked-batch-cells' files in directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slot0001\CellsCache
    - 1335 'compiled-batch' files in directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slot0001\CompiledOctreesCache

ofcourse i did the deletion of the files while the game was close. After deleting i started the game agian and did my 'Crash route'. This is what i started calling it *giggles*. And after doing it 1x swimming and 1x in the seamoth i am convinced that there will be no more errors.

Ofcourse this still means there is a bugg in the game. Unless you guys want us players to do these kinds of manual deletions more often

The Mushroom Forest biome does that for me. Every. Single. Time. I go there, and it starts getting slower and slower and more choppy, loads objects slowly, regular out of memory symptoms, and then it crashes. I've sent the contents of the log directory to the devs by mail as the client's exit popup says a few times. No problems anywhere else or any problems with loading the world. If I make a short visit to the Mushrooms, and then immediately come out, the loading does get slower elsewhere too, though, and eventually leads to a CTD.
