Yet another call for Foundation improvements

It's been mentioned before that Foundations are a bit unwieldy to use, as they force rooms and corridors to displace based on the corners of the actual Foundation. This causes minor annoyances when building, such as the base not being centered when viewed on the actual platforms. But more importantly, it causes frustrations when building base components: Moonpools and Scanner Rooms will not build even when there is actual room between a nearby Foundation; you have to deconstruct the offending Foundation, build the room and THEN you can put the Foundation back. But in some cases, depending on base construction, you sometimes have to deconstruct half your base to move or remove a single Foundation (since the game considers them to be attached to another structure).
So why is this the case then? Despite futuristic construction designs, you can have MP Rooms or other large habitat modules hanging over the edges of Foundations, which should cause an integrity issue but otherwise is fine. Other times they'll clip into a Moonpool if you need to add more of them to increase the strength of your base. But now, with the latest update of the game, you can access Reinforcements from a fresh new game; Lithium is found in abundance around the mountain island, and they can give +7 to a base's HP while the bulky and unwieldy Reinforcement offers a meager +2. The PDA indicates Foundations should be built first, but are they really worth the hassle?
I'd like to ask the devs to consider adding a 'centered' habitat option when building with them, so at least they offer some desirability for the early game. Because between trying to get a new base started and having to deal with clipping issues with terrain or structures, or it blocking the way to build a new extension and their meager bonuses, it may be better off just not having them as an option entirely.
What are your thoughts on the matter?

I agree that the foundations need to be reworked and or allow base items to be centered on them. I want to point something else out though, I don't like the fact that hull reinforcement is available at the start of the game, I feel that it shouldn't be right there at the start and that you actually have to find a blueprint fragment or an abandoned base in order to scan and get the blueprint.
This last point is completely unrelated but the moonpool can't be rotated like other base building items which irks me quite a bit.
edit:
Reinforcement +7.0 +14.0 when built on the North, South, East, or West side of a room.

Most annoying that I can't attach it on the short side when I want.
