First build orders: 2 IPs, 1 TF, 1 observatory, 2 turrets.

send most guys towards a res node thats on the way to a hive, build res tower and keep going to the hive. at hive build phase gate, res tower.

send the few guys at base to the next nearest res node(usually on the other side), build res tower, and head back to base

secure the hive. scan the other hive locations to see whats up.

go towards next hive, building res towers on the way.

usually there's alot of resistance right about now, (<!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> ) but my marines were listening to me so it was all good. the aliens started attacking our defenseless res towers. i kept spreading out my guys to kill them and rebuild the res towers and then go back to hunting for the next hive.

at one point they had fades and we held 1 hive and was just about to set up siege outside their hive until they destroyed it(<!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::sentry::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/turret.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='turret.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> ). so i immediately tell my just respawned marines to stay at base, then gather all of them up to run to the other hive(usually not defended) and set up a siege and phase gate outside it asap. this strat usually works because most aliens are trying to get the hive that we secured earlier. while they're attackin our hive, we attacked their hive. all went well, their hive was down, our hive was surprisingly still alive b/c the aliens ran back to their hive that was attacked.

at this point the ppl that died from the backups were given hmgs and sent back to the phase gate to kill the aliens at the hive we're attacking. this usually kills the fades since dead marines' hmgs will be picked up by other marines. the aliens are spending too much time attacking the turrets(since i placed the turrets strategically as to not be able to backstab) or TF the phase gate is still safe, so marines will just keep popping in.

then i sent a couple guys to go hunt for resources, build res towers, and keep moving(by this time the aliens usually destroy all the lone resources).

things went well at the hive we were attacking, so we pushed the aliens back, the fades are all gone(or most of it) coz we took out their 2nd hive, so they're stuck with 1 hive, and sometimes they're building the other hive that they just took over.

now i send most of my marines to their next hive(make sure to scan ahead so u know where to place the TF) and place a TF right outside it. then pop a phase gate, 2 turrets. place siege when its ready, and voila, 2nd hive under siege. oh and remember to put down medpacks like there's no tomorrow when setting up turret factories coz ur marines are very valuable at this point.

when 2nd hive is down set up a TF, a few turrets, a phase gate, wait for everyone to appear there, and then set waypoint to the last hive. do the same thing as before: set up TF outside, and siege em to death.

on a note: i had about 4 really good(completely listens to me) marines out of the 9 that i commanded, those 4 were the ones that changed the game because there were always times when we could've lost if it were not for them. those 4 were the one who did the sieging also.

most of the time, even with fades, i do not drop armor. i only drop hmg. why? for some reason the marines kill the fades better. i usually have heavy armor up by the time we are attacking their 2nd hive. but the heat of the battle occurred right after we secured our 1st hive and i only gave them hmgs.

i won 5 games straight with this strat. basically: phase gates rule, sieges rule.
