Debug Menu Not Opening??

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but I use a Surface Pro 3, and it runs Subnautica really well, considering it doesn't quite meet the minimum requirements (I rarely deal with crashes and the lag is bearable).

But, when I try to use the debug menu, it won't open. I'm trying to collect all available eggs, so I need to spawn some that I can't find, but clicking f3 only turns off my backlit keyboard. Any advice?

I don't know the Surface Pro 3, but is there a control panel for the keyboard settings? Maybe the key assigned to toggling the backlight can be changed to something other than F3.

Heh. Press your Fn key first, hold that and press F3. That switches it from the laptop alternate function to the actual F3 key.

It used to be the reverse, you pressed Fn to get the laptop function (backlight etc), but no one was smart enough to figure out that's how it worked, I guess? *shrug*

EDIT: I should say, it could just be because the alt-functions were used more often than the actual F-keys. Not everyone used Alt-F4 regularly, I guess. xP

OK, that means it worked. You need to un-check "Disable Console" at the top-left, but your mouse is still stuck in-game. To fix this, press Fn+F8 to bring up the Feedback window. This will give you a mouse cursor. Un-check "Disable Console", then press Fn+F8 to close Feedback, then Fn+F3 to close the F3 window.

Now, press ~ (aka `) or Enter, which will bring up the little debug text box in the lower-left of your screen. You're now all set to enter commands.

FYI, though, when using the console in the future, you might have to hit Fn+F3 twice to get the game to realize the debug is actually still enabled.

If you need further help just ask. (:
