Subnautica offline

Hey guys, I have a question/bug to report. I bought Subnautica for Xbox one a few days ago. When I was online Subnautica worked ok except for the fact that nothing spawned. There was only the bare map. Now that might just have been a one time glitch. But I've tried to play it offline at home and it just sits on the screen with the crashed aurora, the guy on the life pod and the blue fish thing and doesn't load or anything. So my question is this, can Subnautica be played offline? I have no internet to connect to at home anf only go to some place that does rarely.

Lol. Imma guess when the offline gets fixed I'll play it for hours on end. It'll be my new Fallout 4. Fyi I have over 7 days logged on Fallout 4.
