While typing a Feedback message, simultaneously piloting the cyclops, press the E-key (default) to stop piloting the cyclops; PC will stop piloting. You may continue typing your feedback message, but upon closing the feedback window PC is now in a stuck state.

Edit: A card has been created for this issue on the Trello, so devs are aware of it. Thanks Azure!

With E being such a common letter in English, as you might imagine, this makes most messages impossible to write whilst piloting. Confirmed that if you manage to type a message without using your E key, you can submit the mostly-illegible feedback and the problem behavior will not occur.

Here's what "stuck" means:
  • Camera pitch and yaw are frozen, you cannot use your mouse to move the camera
  • Click interactions are completely disabled. You cannot click objects even if they are directly in front of you.
  • The Game Menu no longer works (ESC). You are forced to close the game through ALT+F4, or similar, without saving, best I can tell.
  • You may move, with WASD, forward, backward and strafing. Not sure what else you can do, as I exited the game shortly thereafter.

You may still press F8 to give feedback, and F3 to open the debug window, but little else.

Workaround: Don't try to send developer feedback while piloting the Cyclops. Stop first, then F8. This can be a bit aggravating since you're trying to get a screen capture of what you're seeing at the helm when you press F8 - it doesn't do us quite as much good if we can't report exactly what we're seeing.

Alternatively, you might be able to remap the E-key to a key you wouldn't ordinarily use in feedback, but this isn't a sane workaround as E-Key is preferable for "cease-piloting".

Alternatively, try sending an entire message without the letter E, if you want a good laugh.

Is that why.. I thought it was the F8 window itself causing this.

Question: if you use the alt-key to enter 'e' (Alt+69 for E and Alt+101 for e), does it trigger the bug? (I don't think it will.) Also, I'm sure you know this, but you must use the numberpad numbers to enter alt codes, not the number row numbers.

Yup, it's while you are on cameras, at least thats where this bug happened for me. Found this out the hard way lol.

My first experience with this bug, I was definitely using my camera, but I've since discovered you don't have to be to reproduce the issue. You're likely to be on camera, because (and this is just, like, my opinion man) that's the easiest way to pilot the cyclops. It will freeze whether you're on cameras or otherwise.

The camera was giving me a really great shot of the X-Ray vision you get from the helm, so I was trying to utilize the full-view for a good screen capture. I'd like to post some videos later, if I can find the time, for this and a couple of others.

I will go ahead and try the alt code, while I'm at it, for the sheer hell of it.
Edit: Azure got a card for this on the trello, devs are aware of it. Don't see the need for a video since she made it official. I may try the ALT code later on my own just for S&Gs.
