<div class="IPBDescription">Is there a way to stop...</div> Is there a way to stop the sound effects (footsteps, gun blasts etc) vole being 'faded out' when someone is using voice comm? By faded out I mean when the volume is decreased slightly when people are talking on VC.

It is sometimes hard to hear enemy footsteps etc when someone is talking on voice comm, not because the person is talking to loud, but because volume is decreased.

Thanx in advance.

Mute the voicecomm, if it's that much of a problem? :b

I think one of the voice_ cvars controls that. just type "cvarlist voice" in console, and play with those (make sure you find out the defaults first before messing with things)

    voice_overdrive x

Where x is the volume to quiet background noises when voice comm is being used. If it is set to "0", then all sounds will remain constant as voice comm is being used. If it is set to around 4-5, then all sounds are silenced when voice comm is being used. Since you want to be able to hear background noises really well, then I suggest "0" to turn it off, or "1" to have just a minimal change in volume.

Just type it into the console.

You obviously didn't search these forums very hard - or at all.

Note the "<b>The Infamous "can't Mute" Problem: Solved!</b>" thread, which is exactly the fourth one down.

It provides a easy working fix to this.
