Please make the Sea Emperor have a female voice!

A male voice with that thing would be weird, it would make the Sea Emperor seem more hostile, and it just doesn't make sense. As the Sea Emperor will be passive, it should have a female voice because that would make it seem more gentle, passive, and it would make her seem more important, instead of just another creature.

Why should it have a voice? It is an alien creature that doesn't need an auditory form of communication. It could be telepathic, visual, tactile, or some other form of communication. The Sea Emperor would certainly not use English language to communicate with the protagonist due to there being much better forms of underwater communication and it is extremely human-centric to think that female aliens sound female and male aliens sound male. The best approach for the Sea Emperor to communicate is have some weird sound or other form of communication, then have the PDA translate.

Didn't they hint at the Sea Emperor actually being a Sea Empress, I can't find where but I remember reading that. Also, *spoiler* the Sea Emperor lays eggs that the Precursors tried to hatch. So it seems there are some signs that the Sea Emperor will be female, and if what you say is true (that it will talk to you). Then it seems likely that they will use a female voice for the Sea Emperor.

The trello stated that the sea emperor will have a voice and that it will talk to you through telepathy or something, which is a really cool idea! The baby sea emperor's animations are so cute!

Actually, there is no sex in the Subnautica. You can get this info from the terminal in lab cache. Also command for baby emperors is: spawn seaemperorbaby.

Yea, but something in the pda's also referred the Sea Emperor as the Sea Empress. The baby Sea Emperor isn't in the game yet, but you can spawn it.

If it uses telepathy, it might use the PDA voice, just like the Mesmer does.

Female lions still roar like male lions. I imagine it'd be the same for the leviathan class creatures.

Personally, the Emperor/Empress having a voice would spoil the game immersion for me. I would rather it just make monster noises.

Gotta admit, the way the OP is worded, I felt it was an attempt to troll (especially in light of a recent past post). I mean: "gentle, passive, more important"? LOL. I don't care one way or the other *shrug*, but what an odd thing to say. On an ever-so-barely related note, I love the the base voice and the way it says "Welcome aboard, Captain." It never gets old for me (or the minimalist music).

They said it was female before they had decided that there was only one gender on 4546B, it's probably been changed to genderless now.

We're talking about a several thousand ton alien communicating with telepathy in a watery environment - so... this thread doesn't make any sense.

Having it change the type of voice would be freaky of course...

But just doing the mesmer treatment could also work.

I would prefer a mesmer treatment with dialouge (i cant spell that for some reason) like this "Attention: This creature is broadcasting a frequency above the range of human hearing please scan this creature for more info" after scan:"Scans of this creature and its brain show new data you can now communicate with this creature using this new translation software" and now a the emperor comes up and then the PDA says stuff when all you hear from it (emperor) all you hear is chirps and clicks (sorry for the longness)
