Making the printbiome command automatic + 2D Card

Hello,

Another minor suggestion, but which I think would be interesting to implement, would be to display the names of the biomes we are entering, but without having to type the command : "printbiome" in the console.

The ideal would also be to have a 2D map of the entire map, with the names of the different biomes as they are discovered.
Map to display with the key: "Tab" for example or which would come to be located in the top right of the screen.

Personally, the scanner room as it currently exists does not suit me, I only used 2 or 3 times maximum.

Perhaps a minimap HUD, maybe as an addon that the Player can equip.

And a map on the PDA showing the explored area and elevation would definitely aid in not getting lost; that function could be downloaded to the PDA upon visiting the Aurora.

Maybe when you discover an area it'll be like

"You have discovered the X biome." And information about it will reveal information about it in your PDA such as what the biome is like, how dangerous it is, what lives in it, what resources you can find there, and what depths you'll find it at.

Adding to your map idea, The explorable in-game area should be split up into small hexagons which will be revealed when you go near them. Or something.

Or maybe make it tad more "mainstream" and add a small Info-tab in the PDA next to the biome that says something like:

    Scanned 0/4 Flora
    Scanned 2/5 Fauna
    Found 0/2 Wrecks
    Found 0/1 Caves
    Found 0/1 Secret Locations

Yes I know that takes away a little bit of the "surprise" if you explore a biome inch by inch but otherwise it gives you the info that you might have missed something or not and fuels the players intend to "complete" each biome and explore them again to do so?

Having a map in your PDA and maybe even a minimap would be awesome and something I'd love to see implemented someday though. Because that would make finding certain places easier and it would make it easier to see where you have been and where not.

The developers have stated previously that they will not be making an in-game map; this is due to the fact that the entire map is actually quite small and it becomes very easy to navigate once you know where you are and where you're going. It's important to add mystery and intrigue to each area, with the player constantly needing to keep a mental note of where things are; this helps create a greater feeling of exploration, and makes the map seem bigger than it actually is.

The scanner room recently got a nice quality-of-life update. Its use is still questionable, but you should check to see if its changed to your liking.
