No Servers On Update, Console Is Wierd Too...

Just downloaded NS, and I have 2 problems...
Basically, when I go into half-life and activate NS (because the shortcut is bugged), it still won't update any NS servers when I choose ns in the filter section...also, I don't have a console option when it activates ns this way, so there isn't a way to directly connect via ip address.
Which brings up my 2nd problem...I tried 4 different IP addresses in console and all 4 timed out...anyone know what gives on either? Thanks in advance <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
