I really don't think it has a "face" as such, not like we can see with a gasopod or other fish.
It strikes me as a filter feeder, just taking in water through multiple channels, filtering out oxygen and plankton (or the 4546B equivalent), and dumping the wastewater overboard. Kind of like a sponge.
It might be me, but their underside reminds me of a horseshoe crab (well, technically, a kabuto because I know more of G1 Pokemon than I do of animals, but kabuto is in part based on horseshoe crabs). So, wherever the face is on a horseshoe crab?
Dose it use echolocation? Does it have any predators? Any biological relatives? The bio scan says more info is needed, but we can't get more. Hope there will be a way to find out more in the future

I think those are for filter feeding/propulsion methods
