New Equipment slot - Utility belts

Just started playing recently, loving this game so far.

Had an idea for a new equipable item for your character in the form of utility belts. A standard utility belt would apply a small number of inventory slots on the character window (say 4) to which certain tools could be placed into to free inventory space. Obviously the smaller equipment items that occupy a 1x1 block in your inventory could be assigned to these slots to keep it from being unbalanced, but could include anything from tools to flares.

Other belt ideas could include weight belts (faster decent speed), buoyancy belts (faster ascend speed) or even something more specialised like a static field generator (repels smaller sea creatures, battery operated).

What do you all think? :)

I wouldn't mind this, but I'd be more happy if 1x1 quickslot items (#1-5) were 'removed' from your inventory when put in those spots. I mean, item like the Scanner and Survival Knife are theoretically stored on your belt anyways for quick access, why do they still take up room in your hyperstorage space? Obviously Items larger than that like the Propulsion Cannon or SeaGlide would still operate like they do now: quickslot access but they use up your inventory.

However, I do like the idea of different belts or accessories to use, it would give us more customization options for our surviror, and would give the paperdoll UI more functionality and appeal. :)

They have the "Air Bladder" for speeding up your ascend. But something for a faster decent would be nice especially early in the game when you don't yet have access to the Seamoth or the Seaglide. Maybe they could base it on the Gravsphere only smaller something that makes you heavier by manipulating gravity around you but that could be turned on/off as needed.

Perhaps there could be a suit type which increases inventory space? I imagine this would be a nightmare to code into the current PDA UI, but would be a cool addition nonetheless.

The suit would decrease swim speed, naturally, similar to the Reinforced suit.

Excellent idea of the belt. So I know where to put the batrang. ;)
(Don't look at me that way. Sooner or later someone would say that. I might as well do it now.)
