Do You Need Internet to play? (Offline mode)

I have just got the digital trial version of Subnautica on Xbox one, and I played it with Internet, then my trial is up, and I have to buy it, and the trial did say you need Internet to play, (or is that BECUASE of the demo timer?) so that means does the full version need internet or to be online to just play offline? Thx

Also if you buy the Verison now, does that mean I Have to buy it again? Or is it just an update? When it fully comes out with no lag?

Again, I use the net only for the forum, I unplug and restart SN without the net to play. See ya.

I play almost exclusively offline. (Net connection sucks.)

For your second question, buying it now will include the full version when released(Trello says early access buyers get upgrade to special edition, I think it applies to xbox preview too)

Ok I tried to connect to subnautica with internet, worked, then I disconnected my internet and play form there! Thx it works now

I can play SN offline, but only if I connect to SN when my Xbox is connected and then disconnect.

Step 1: Start Xbox with internet going
Step 2: Launch Subnautica
Step 3: Disconnect internet
Step 4: Play Subnautica (with same amount of lag as if I was online: Still trying to figure this one out)

If I launch SN without being connected to the internet, it literally will not load. It wont even access the main menu. Unsure as to why this is

I may have a different XB console and my XB settings are probably different than
yours,but
I when my XB boots from a cold start (econo mode) and the XB is disconnected from the net,
I see a notice on the right of the dashboard to connect to XBLive.
I ignore the notice and start SN, I do not receive a failed to sync error, but I get the
'press menu screen' and proceed to the 'main' menu'.
I then select a save to load.
The save loads OK.
