I was playing hardcore, had not repaired the lifepod yet, and I suddenly died for no apparent reason while just outside the bottom hatch.
My position was exactly where you are when you go through the hatch. I had not moved, and had just placed a floating locker outward and downward. Only arthropods were around, and all stat bars were full.
I'm using a Vive.
