Problem is save game - related.
As most players know, fishes raised in an alien containment have a specific inventory size, based on their kind - for example, peepers and reginalds are 1x1, when a reefback takes a total of 16 slots. (4x4)
Where is the bug?
Normally, a crashfish takes 4 slots:
But if you leave your pet in the containment, then save & reload, any fish in the containment will take only 1 slot. As you can see, i have 2 tiny reefbacks in my locker: Imagine 16 of them stored in a single bioreactor
Now, if those tiny 1x1 fish reproduce, the baby will be correct size inventory-wise, leading to a situation, where we have 2 fish of the same kind but different size in our container:
This way, we can have a giant energy buffer for the bioreactor (up to 16 000 energy when reefback powered - which gives over 13 hours of constant energy production), or an ability to launch countless crashfish torpedoes with propulsion cannon.
