So,today I've been just searching some stuff up about subnautica, and I found this site named subnautica.org.It was a post how to overcome the fear of sea or something like that. The grammar was so awful I didn't even get to read more than just a few sentences,so I decided to check out some other posts. And guess what I found? ''Subnautica free download''.Duh
Now don't get me wrong,I don't think that pirating games is as horrible as it is to some people, but a game like Subnautica (that's on steam for a very low price) might suffer from this, since it's still in alpha.(it has supposedly around 300 000 views)
See,that isn't really the problem, you can't stop piracy, but from what I've seen in the comments section, that download probably contains a virus and who knows what else. Also, the page doesn't seem to give any credit to UW (it DOES tell you to buy the steam version if you want to,however)
Also, most of the text seems copied from the steam page.
Oh yeah, and the site is also full of advertisements.
So then I checked their terms of use page, and what I saw, really pissed me off.
''First of all, if you are a user of this site, you shouldn’t change the content or take it away without getting any permission from the administrators. This website is made for all users to use in general, not for any specific individual!
Second of all, the quantity and quality of the content will not get any assurances from the owner of this site or the third parties. And those things are like accuracy, relevance or completion, even though they are accepted by laws. Therefore, all users have to follow the rules and be in charge of they have used or done.
The components that were exhibited on the site, including graphic, content, design and so on, will be possessed by us. For those who are trying to make a copy of those elements, their action will be acknowledged as unlawful piracy.''
So,they're basically saying that the content is all theirs, and they've even got the nerve to call it an ''unlawful piracy'' when someone steals ''their'' content.
Dickheads.

However, from what I gather, if the site is not hosted on wordpress, they can't do anything. The only option left is legal action for copyright infringement.
whois.domaintools.com/subnautica.org
@Obraxis, you might want to have whomever handles UWE's legal stuff give Godaddy a call...and a cease-and-desist. And maybe an IP infringement lawsuit.

AdBlock FTW.
They may already be in hot water - the domain is listed as RenewProhibited, which isn't usually done except when a site is under legal fire for something. It's also flagged as clientUpdateProhibited, which means the domain admin couldn't change anything even if he/she wanted to, and clientDeleteProhibited, which means GoDaddy might already be ticked off with them. No way to tell where that flag originated, though, so that's conjecture.
The annoying part is that since the admin is registered with PrivacyGuardian, there's no way to contact them directly; anything that goes to those addresses just dies there - they're dead-end mailboxes. Legit admins use them to avoid spam and scam, but jerks weasels scumbags admins like this clown use it to duck legal notices. The only thing PG allows is submission of either a contact or an abuse form via the PrivacyGuardian site. And no promises they're going to care, either. That said, it isn't a good idea that we all go and burn up PG's abuse form with complaints, either; they'll only review the complaint and, if it has merit, release the admin's contact information for follow-up - and then only to the admin of the site issuing the complaint, which means we can't go and complain on UWE's behalf.
For @Obraxis, @Flayra, and the rest of the UWE gang:
The abuse complaint form for PrivacyGuardian is at https://www.privacyguardian.org/
The site was created on 2016-03-01 through Namesilo, a bargain-basement domain-grab service.
Registry domain ID: D186925055-LROR
And here's their ICANN WHOIS file: https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=subnautica.org
Forget "stun" - set your lawyer to "kill." I hate pirates.

I used that, until I switched to uBlock Origin (uses less resources, seems less easy to circumvent).
You won't ever stop piracy (unless you can successfully take down The Pirate Bay and all clones that will immediately spring up when one goes down) but, yeah, you can go for the low-hanging fruit like subnautica . org.
