Finally a use for all that spare Titanium....

Did you see the blueprint for just the new Cyclops Sonar Module?

10 Plasteel Ingots and an Aluminum Oxide Crystal.

Exact same recipe as the: Ultra Cyclops Reinforcement Module.

Start saving your Titanium now. :)

(There are at least two other Cyclops upgrade modules that have the same resource requirements:

Shield
Repair Bay (Repairs whatever is docked.)

Where are these said blueprints ? I have the latest experimental build and haven't seen anything of sorts yet.

I watched a YouTube video that showed the new items and then unlocked them using cheat commands.

Could you possibly share these cheats with a fellow Aurora wreck survivor ? lol

Here is the YouTube video by Acituanbus that I watched:

Here are the commands I found on the WIKI. (WIKI authors are AWESOME!):

    sub cyclops
    item cyclopsshieldmodule
    item cyclopsseamothrepairmodule
    item cyclopssonarmodule
    item fireextinguisher

(You'll need maybe a few fire extinguishers if you have fun crashing your Cyclops into stuff to see what happens. :)

thank you so much! I looked there last night but didn't see anything new of the sorts(I keep a close check on anything related to Subnautica) I possibly overlooked it in my haste.

If Sonar has the same requirements as the Ultra Cyclops Reinforcement Module, then it is a placeholder and not its actual recipe. It is more likely for Sonar to have 10 Advanced Wiring Kits instead of 10 Plasteel Ingots. Although, I except that Sonar will only need 1 to 3 Advanced Wiring Kits. After all, recipes are supposed to have some relevance to what is being created. Ultra Cyclops Reinforcement Module requires 10 Plasteel Ingots due to reinforcing the Cyclops. Glass Corridors require glass and titanium. A Habitat Builder requires a Computer Chip and Battery. A Scanner Room requires 2 Computer Chips, Enameled Glass, and 3 Titanium.

However, there are a few exceptions like the Scanner which requires a Battery and Titanium and the Water Filtration Machine which requires 2 Titanium. The Scanner is likely due to the devs wanting us to build a Scanner ASAP and requiring a Computer Chip would delay its creation. The Water Filtration Machine is too complex and useful to require just 2 Titanium so it is likely a placeholder that has been ignored.

Now what are the chances the material requirements didn't even get set yet and the experimental build had them only in for testing?
Nah, impossible. Let's make a thread about it.

I agree. I expect the recipes to change. And I agree the Water Filtration Machine recipe should be a TON more complex than just 2 Titanium.

There is no such thing as spare Titanium unless you're specifically going out to scavenge for it, which does commonly happen. Spare Gold is another matter. We desperately need less Gold and more Silver. Silver becomes less of a problem after getting a Scanner Room to make finding Sandstone Outcroppings easier, but it still demands specific effort to get enough of it.

Even finding sandstone isn't enough as it is, you usually get 70% gold vs 30% silver. They should swap the ratio values since so many recipes need wiring kits and computer chips (silver) vs advanced wiring kits and power transfer modules (gold).

I posted in another thread requesting changing load outs for outcrops; IMO titanium and gold shouldn't both appear in vastly different rock formations. Also TBH titanium should probably be removed completely from limestone; between metal salvage and scanning repeat fragments I end up with as much unwanted titanium as I do unwanted gold. (And yes, that's even after building multiple bases with appliances, and crafting all vehicles with all the upgrades.)

In my game i have never had a problem finding any resources. You just have to look in the right spot. Remember, these events are happening over days/weeks/months... In game. I bet if you go in real life and look for silver or gold you wouldn't find anything in the first few months. Only after researching and studying the environment for weeks even longer possibly would you learn the best places to find them in your area. Not to mention this is a uncharted un explored alien planet.

Oh, I quite agree the outcroppings need to be changed in composition and percentage. To get enough Silver I throw away a lot of Gold. And Gold is in Sandstone, Basalt, and Shale Outcroppings, so it's definitely in excess considering its few uses. I don't end up with too much Titanium as I limit my scavenging of Metal Salvage and repeat fragments to when I need it. Now I'm crafting Reactor Rods, even Lead isn't in excess supply.
