Two days ago I downloaded the full Subnautica sound track and listened to it on my Sony 5.1 Dolby home surround system. It has two 12" after market subwoofers with a 500 watt built in amp. It was epically amazing! You guys need to do this, seriously. Don't take my word for it, go and do it. (by the way its 25 minutes and 28 seconds long of pure legitwood)

You mean like turtle beach? I heard they are amazing.
I heard build quality on Turtle Beach wasn't, though (but that might have changed).

(note the lack of Turtle Beach in those lists, at least from my quick glance)
Now, take any of those ▲ and search for a comparison with the Logitech Artemis Spectrum G933 (G633 if you don't need wireless functionality) it's pretty top-notch, IMHO. If you need a set cheaper than ~$90 70 wired / $150 135 wireless, the HyperX Cloud Stinger is amazing, especially considering the price ($50, yes I have one of those as well)
EDIT: Obviously, headphones that cost in the range of GTX 1070 and GTX Titan X video cards are going to blow those ▲ out of the water, if you've got that kind of money. http://gizmodo.com/5925746/the-best-headphones-money-can-buy https://www.cnet.com/topics/headphones/best-headphones/high-end/ -> a bit cheaper: http://www.tomsguide.com/us/best-headphones,review-1988.html
Headphones are cool and all. But i personally prefer having the bass so intense i can feel it in my soul lol. Good ol Sony 5.1 with Dolby Digital true surround DTS and all that mumbo jumbo.
While true, I'd imagine the best experience would be a splitter allowing you to output to both (or a system that doesn't always kill speaker output when headphones attached) -- you get the crystal clear details of every frequency in your headphones, as well as the chest-crushing, teeth-rattling bass from the subs.
