Lava larvae behaviour

It is written in the data that lava larvae are attracted by the heat. Yet they are only attaching to the subs. Why wouldn't go further and make them sticking to the heat sources, like black smokers, too? Or next to the lava lakes in ALZ.
This would be a good point for the gamers, like you have some larvae on your vehicle, you approach the smoker or geyser and they are coming off from you and swim towards new heat source (geyser is definitely hotter than Seamoth, I think). That would be an alternative to trying to remove them by hand.
