but the jetpack has some limits and you won't have the time to grab a jetpack because most of the time the onos is already in the base

Hmm. If we're going into the logical aspect, Onos have tentacles from the back of the head.. it's what they use to paralyze. Three of 'em. What would stop them from simply stinging you, rolling over and *squish* goes the Marine?

Because its just a game, and who and in fact its in the future, and its only a mod for half-life, and I never saw anything in the synopsis for this mod which stated that it was realistic.

Not to sound like its a flame though, I do agree with you, that the stingers in "real" life would sting the marine, and the onos could simply roll over crushing Mr. Marine.
